Established in 1998, Birla Copper is India's largest copper player and the world's third-largest producer of copper rods outside China. Birla Copper is a part of Hindalco Industries Limited, a flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group. It operates multiple facilities, including two copper smelters, two refineries, two rod plants, a captive power plant, an oxygen plant, a precious metal recovery plant, a captive jetty, and more.

They produce high-quality copper cathodes, continuous-cast copper rods, and precious metals. Known for its purity and quality, Birla Copper manufactures larger-diameter copper rods for various applications, including high-speed railways. The company holds ISO certifications, is listed on the London Metal Exchange as a Grade-A copper brand, and is designated as a Star Trading House with accredited testing labs by NABL.

Rohit Pathak, CEO of Birla Copper, has a distinguished career. He held positions such as President & CEO at Aditya Birla Insulators and led the growth of Aditya Birla Power Composites Limited. He received the Chairman's Award for Exceptional Contribution in 2015. Before joining the Aditya Birla Group, he was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, specializing in market entry, turnaround, and growth strategies. He also led the Procurement practice and co-led the Automotive & Assembly practice in India.

Rohit is known for his contributions to industry associations, including serving as President of IEEMA and IPCPA. He earned a PGDM from IIM Ahmedabad and holds an Electrical & Electronics Engineering degree from BITS Pilani, receiving the Prof L K Maheshwari Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2023.
