Sterlite Copper, a unit of Vedanta Limited, is one of the leading copper producers in India. Commissioned in 1996, the business now has units in Tuticorin (Tamil Nadu), Silvassa (Unit Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli), Fujairah Gold in UAE and Nickel Business in Goa, India. Currently, the Indian operations of Sterlite Copper operate a 400,000 Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) Copper Smelter with associated facilities. This includes 2 Refineries and 4 Copper Rod Plants, a Sulphuric Acid plant of more than 12,00,000 MTPA and a Phosphoric Acid plant of 220,000 MTPA. It also operates a 160 MW coal-based power plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Vedanta's motto of "Transforming for Good" plays a vital role in Sterlite Copper's mission of driving excellence, sustainability, and ethical practices in the copper industry.

Committed to sustainability, he shapes the company's ESG strategy and fosters a culture of health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
He has won several awards for his outstanding leadership, including the W. E. Global Employees' Choice Award for "Best CEO" in 2022 and the "Great Manager" Award from the Economic Times. He was also recognised for his leadership excellence with the “Chairman Award” within Vedanta Ltd.
