Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), established as a public sector undertaking on November 9, 1967, operates under the administrative jurisdiction of the Ministry of Mines, GOI. It proudly stands as the country's sole vertically integrated copper producer, overseeing every facet of copper production, from mining and beneficiation to smelting, refining, and the casting of high-quality copper products ready for sale.
The Driving Force
Mr. Sanjay Panjiyar,
Director - Operations, HCL
Sanjay Panjiyar assumed the role of Director (Operations) at Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) in July 2021. He served as Director (Mining) with an Additional Charge until March 2022 and also undertaking full-time responsibilities for overseeing the Company's Commercial and HR functions as well.
Before joining HCL, Panjiyar held the position of Chief General Manager at NMDC Ltd. In a career span of over 34 years he also served as an Executive Director in the private sector from 2009 to 2015. In 2015, he joined NMDC Limited and played a key role in the completion of the 3.0 MTPA Steel Plant project at NISP Nagarnar, Bastar, Chhattisgarh, as Chief General Manager.
Under his leadership, HCL received the 35th CFBP (Council for Fair Business Practices) Jamnalal Bajaj Award for fair business practices in the Manufacturing Enterprises- Large category for the period 2022-23.
